Description
Calcium Bromide (CaBr2) is a single-salt solution or solid, ready for use to form clear brine workover and completion fluids that require densities from 8.4 to 15.3 lb/gal (1007 to 1833 kg/M3).
|
Application & Features
Calcium Bromide Liquid is used during workover and completion operations to provide a clear brine fluid at a density up to 14.2 lb/gal (1700 kg/M3). It provides inhibition, preventing the hydration and migration of swelling clays, and can be used for packer fluids or to adjust the density of other brine systems.
Calcium Bromide powder can be used to achieve rapid density increases with minimal volume increase. In solution, it has same function as liquid material. Dry powder material is available especially for areas without access to a liquid brine plant.
CaBr2 can be mixed with CaCl2 to obtain densities up to 15.1 lb/gal (1809 kg/M3). When used with ZnBr2, densities to 19.2 lb/gal (2301kg/M3) can be achieved.

Packaging
Liquid material is packed in 55 USG (208 liters) HDPE drum containing 340kgs net or 1000 liters HDPE tote containing 1700kgs net.
Solid material
is packed in 25kgs sacks.
Store in corrosion resistant containers and keep closed and firmly sealed. It is concentrated hygroscopic salt solution which will absorb water from the air, reducing density if not properly stored. |
